San Antonio singer Austin Mahone has finally met his idol, Justin Bieber!
The two pop artists were introduced at Z100′s Elvis Duran studio in New York City on June 21.
The 16-year-old rising pop star tweeted:
"Met my inspiration @justinbieber Finally(: THANK U @ElvisDuran."
The up-and-coming singer is already making young girl swoon, following in the footsteps of the "Believe" singer, 18, by using YouTube as a launchpad. Mahone has 700,000 Twitter followers and has an iTunes single that's sold 100,000 copies. Mahone was also recently featured in The Hollywood Reporter magazine, even being coined "Baby Bieber" by veteran music writer Jenny Eliscu.
So who is Mahone?
Mahone began his music career on YouTube, the singer has uploaded over 100 videos of himself singing, managing to build sizeable fan base.
Young girls are lining up to see him; he recently sold $60,000 worth of tickets for his concert at New York's Best Buy Theater sold out in less than an hour.
Mahone has even opened up for pop stars like Adam Lambert, The Wanted and Carly Rae Jepsen at Philadelphia pop station Q102's Concert in late May.
