Selena wants to go deep on her next album, but that doesn't mean she's going to dish on her relationship with Justin Bieber.
Selena Gomez once admitted that she takes her music career less seriously than she does acting, but now that she's hanging out with Justin Bieber all the time she plans to knuckle down and actually spend some time on her songs. Also, the trailer for Beyoncé's animated movieEPIC is out, 50 Cent is "fine" after a little run in with a Mack truck, and Rihanna hung out with "the beebs." Here's the music news.
• Selena Gomez freely admits that she's never gone too deep on any of her albums, telling EOnline, "I've never worked on a song for more than two days." But now that she's nearing her twenties, Gomez feels it's time for her sound to mature: She's going to actually put more of herself into what she sings."I think this is going to be the biggest one for me personally. I want to be able to write about things I've never talked about before and tell a story with this album, because I've never actually had time to go in and do that," Gomez explained. The former Disney star has not begun recording her follow up to 2011'sWhen the Sun Goes Down, but she's had a few preliminary meetings with producers, and has told reporters she hopes to collaborate with Fun and her pal, Taylor Swift.
Of course, everyone just wants to know whether she'll dish on her relationship with Justin Bieber, reigning king of teen pop. Not exactly: "It's not going to be necessarily, 'Here's my tell-all.' It's going to be more of something that people could say, 'It could be that or it could be this or it could that.'"
Translation: "I might write about Justin Bieber, but I'll be so vague you won't really be sure. I'm no Taylor Swift."
• Beyonce Knowles' next movie, the animated 3D adventure flick EPIC, doesn't hit theaters until next May... but it's already building hype. • Not to be outdone by the Spice Girls, legendary performer Cher is planning to write and star in an autobiographical musical. On Sunday, she tweeted, "Prods. R writing mucial now about my life with my music. There r 3 Chers! 1 b4 i met Son thru S&C yrs. 1 after i left thru Believe tour." She added, "I'm help.2 write cause i was there & know stories that no1 knows but me ! I hope it happens!"
