Justin Bieber may be as pop as it gets, but he knows his Hip-Hop.
The Canadian superstar was a guest on the Angie Martinez Show on New York radio station Hot 97. There he discussed his recent tour stops, including the famed Apollo Theater, where he performed despite a power outage. He also talked about missing out on prom and admitted to getting into a little "too much trouble at school."
What probably came as a bigger shock to listeners though was Bieber's ability to recite a few lines from Tupac Shakur's 'Thug Mansion' and Biggie Smalls' 'Warning.'
"I grew up listening to different things. My dad loved Tupac so he influenced me to Tupac. I could spit a Tupac verse when I was eight years old," he said. "There was not much Biggie. Coming to New York, I love listening to Biggie and I love listening to his flow. So I want to get into his flow."
Bieber's new album Believe was released this past Tuesday (June 18).
