However, a celebrity Twitter account does have its downfalls, especially for the famous who are often the targets of abuse.
Chat show host Jimmy Kimmel asked a series of his guests to read some of the most abusive tweets they receive on a daily basis, and the resulting video was hilarious.
‘If I climbed inside Snooki’s vagina it would probably be like the f****** Pacific Ocean’ was a tweet directed at Jersey Shores Snooki.
‘Dear god, give us back TuPac and we’ll give you Justin Bieber’ was another tweeted at Justin Bieber.
