This means last week’s highly-anticipated release by Bruno Mars has to play runner-up. The Grammy-winning singer/songwriter’s sophomore album, Unorthodox Jukebox, debuts at No. 2 on the strength of 192,000 copies sold. The final sum is substantially higher than the 140-160k copies that was originally predicted by industry insiders, and a huge improvement over the 55,000 copies his debut album, Doo-Wops & Hooligans, brought in when it was released in 2010.
Unorthodox Jukebox is bolstered by its first single, “Locked Out Of Heaven,” which currently sits at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.
