Two prank images supposed to be funny for some people, proved to be offensive for others.
Teen singer Justin Bieber posted Photoshopped pictures of Philippines boxer Manny Pacquiao getting knocked out by Juan Manuel Marquez.
One of the photos (see above), is a parody of the Disney animation Lion King. The film’s character, lion Simba, appears to desperately check if Pacquiao is fine. Furthermore, Bieber “marked” the image with the following capture: “Dad wake up.”
The second doctored photo features Michael Jackson and Paqcuiao, both showing an identical move. Jackson was performing a dancing trick while Pacquiao was leaning on the cords ring. Here Bieber attached the message: “Pacquiao doing the lean with MJ .. Classic moment.”
So far, so good. However, singer’s artistic engineering skills not only sparked laughter but triggered also anger from various members of the Philippines Congress who seemed to get upset when saw the photos and 7 of them filed a complaint which demands Justin Bieber’s excuses for the “tasteless comments.” The committee members wrote in a statement:
“Mr. Bieber should have known that the Hon. Pacquiao has reached his stature as such as a result of sheer hard work, determination and firm belief in God, and despite such stature best exemplifies humility and grace even in defeat.”
The 18-year-old pop star who claims to be a fan of Floyd Mayweather, admitted that he made everything on purpose. When folks showed their disagreement with his pictures, he replied with the message: “If they were Beliebers I know they wouldn’t leave my side over [a] boxing opinion I have.”
