Justin Bieber's "Baby" is only the other member of the billionaires club, but it's a descend 2nd to Korean Pop Star Psy's viral chart buster. The video has helped boost K-Pop's popularity. K-Pop viewership on Youtube jumped by nearly 3 billion in 2012. Gangnam Style was uploaded in July of that year. It also inspired Parodies like Real/NASA's "Nasa Johnson Style" and the Peterson Farm Bros's "Farmer Style".
With 1 billion monthly users and 100 hours of video uploaded every minute. Youtube is betting Gangnam Style is a one hit wonder for the video sharing site.
Youtube re-engineered the way it streams video. When the data doesn't get through, the player's switches to sending lower quality video. The size and shape of the video may not be sharp but the video is less likely to freeze and hopefully you'll never miss a single galop, palazzo and twerking moves.
