Justin Bieber Sends Prayers To Family Of Photographer Killed « The ...

After a paparazzo was struck and killed by a car while darting across a street for photos of Justin Bieber’s Ferrari, Bieber reportedly sent his condolences and prayers to the family of the photographer.


Bieber who was not in the car at the time of the accident, released a statement shortly after the accident that killed the 29-year-old photographer. The name of the paparazzo was withheld by police pending notification of relatives.


Bieber hoped that from the tragedy, laws would now take effect protecting the safety of celebrities as well as those who place themselves in harm’s way for photos of the famous: “Hopefully this tragedy will finally inspire meaningful legislation and whatever other necessary steps to protect the lives and safety of celebrities, police officers, innocent public bystanders, and the photographers themselves,” Bieber said in the statement released by Island Def Jam Music Group.


At the time of the accident, a friend of Bieber’s was in the sought-after Ferrari registered to the singer. A California Highway Patrol officer pulled over the car and cited the driver for speeding along Interstate 405.


The photographer who was reportedly told several times by police not to stand on a railing, stood on that low freeway railing to shoot photographs of the traffic stop over a chain-link fence.


The motorist who hit the photographer is not expected to face any charges. Additional reports indicate that she was so distraught after the accident that her husband had to escort her away.
